The recipe system is completely freeform, no rigid steps or instructions. Each chemical reacts dynamically based on temperature and other factors, so players must experiment and learn the recipe over time. Ingredient order, timing, and heat all factor into the final purity. A sloppy cook gets a weak product. Let things get too out of hand, and it gets explosive. Perfect for roleplay servers looking to add a skill-based, high-risk activity.

Cooking locations

Players have three ways to run their operation. Two remastered camper vans serve as self-contained mobile labs, with fully overhauled interiors and seamless entry and exit animations. They give players the flexibility to move between spots and avoid heat. Configurable meth shacks offer a more permanent setup, each pre-equipped with a cooking station and distiller inside. Shacks produce less smoke than vans, making them easier to keep quiet, but they can be contested by other players. For even more freedom, both the cooking station and distiller are available as placeable items. They can be placed in housing, outdoors, or any whitelisted area, and everything placed is saved in the database.

Cooking stations placed in shacks or as placeables run on propane. The tank depletes after a few sessions, so keeping it stocked is part of the routine. The meth cooking kit item is only required when cooking in a vehicle, not at a station.

Ammonia collection

Ammonia is stored in tanks around the map, each with a limited supply that restocks over time. Players must compete for access and time their runs carefully.

Ingredient collection

Collecting the remaining ingredients for the Meth Cooking Script is a scavenger hunt that keeps players on their toes. Scrap vehicles around the map can be searched for car batteries. Players crack them open to extract lithium plates, with a chance of getting corroded or clean lithium. Corroded lithium carries a purity penalty, so the quality of what you find matters. Ethanol can be distilled from rubbing alcohol at the distiller for a better result, or used raw at the cost of final meth purity. Other ingredients are available at different locations around the world, some guarded by NPCs.

Guard NPCs

Guards are positioned at key ingredient locations around the map. They are configurable in behavior and difficulty, and players will need to deal with them before walking away with supplies. The shop owner NPC follows the same principle: they will actively fight back when players attempt to steal from inside.

Risks

NPCs can spot smoke rising from a cooking setup and call the police. Vans produce more visible smoke, so players need to be selective about where they park. Shacks output less smoke and are easier to keep under the radar, but a fixed location comes with its own risks.

Custom props and smoke effects

The Meth Cooking Script includes custom props covering lab equipment, ingredients, and cooking setups across all location types. Smoke color is configurable too.

DLCs

Three optional DLCs are available for kq_meth. Two additional cooking vehicles expand the mobile operation options. The amphetamine cooking add-on introduces a separate production chain using the same core system. The pharmacy MLO adds a dedicated in-world location for collecting an extra ingredient, with its own layout and setup.

Every copy of Meth Cooking comes with a full cooking and gameplay guide. Server owners have everything they need to understand the system, configure it for their server, and hand players enough context to start experimenting from day one.
